Mobile Power Supplies For Your Laptop

More often than not people will defer when asked if they want to purchase a laptop car adapter when they are purchasing accessories for their laptop. The entire point of a laptop is to be as mobile as you can and that includes everything from your internet access right down to charging the battery on your laptop. There are a lot of good reasons to buy a laptop car adapter and charging the battery is only one of the reasons why you should put out the extra few bucks for that laptop car adapter when you are buying laptop accessories.

You are at the park with your friends and you are all accessing the internet from your laptops when suddenly you realize that the battery on your laptop is about to die and you are miles from a power outlet that you can use your AC adapter with. Right about now is when you realize that saving that few bucks by not buying the laptop car adapter was not such a great idea. The whole idea behind a laptop is to remain as mobile as possible and if you bother to invest in a special card from your cell phone provider that lets you find the internet from almost anywhere in the world then why would you not also invest in an accessory that allows you to power your laptop from almost anywhere in the world? Laptop car adapters run safe and efficient power from the cigarette lighter in your car to your laptop but with the advances in technology even the idea of the car cigarette lighter is starting to change. Many new vehicles now can come with a car cigarette lighter or they can come with a port on the car that looks like a cigarette car lighter but is actually a port for your portable power devices. If the auto makers of the world understand that you should always have a mobile source of consistent power for your laptop then why don't you understand it?

With a laptop car adapter you can let your laptop sit while it charges and the charging time on a properly working car battery is usually the same as the charging time when the laptop is plugged into a regular outlet and the AC adapter. You can be up and going again in no time. But more than just charging the battery the laptop car adapter also acts like a standard AC adapter and allows you to use your laptop computer while the battery is charging and you don't need to be anywhere near a fully functioning wall outlet. Basically your car laptop adapter can be the same life saver that your AC adapter can be when the battery on your laptop starts to lose its charge. If you can get that same thing on the road then why wouldn't you? It only makes sense that one of the accessories you insist on purchasing when you are purchasing laptop accessories is a car laptop adapter.

Make sure that you get a completely compatible car laptop adapter when you do purchase one. There are a multitude of car power adapters out there and not all of them work on your laptop computer. So be certain that you are getting the proper car laptop power adapter for your laptop computer and you can be guaranteed hours of use from your laptop whether you are at home or on the road. Don't run the risk of your laptop battery running out when you are out and about, make sure you get the right car laptop power for your laptop and stay connected.

Tips For Extending Laptop Battery Life

When people talk about extending the life of their laptop battery they are sometimes referring to the short term idea of extending how much computing time they get out of a charged battery. But there is the bigger picture to consider as well which is how long your battery will last before you have to shell out the money to replace it. Batteries usually do not come with much of a warranty so if they start to die through regular use then you are pretty much on your own to replace it but there are things you can do to your laptop battery to make sure that you won't have to replace it for a while.

Laptop batteries are like any other part of your laptop, if you take the proper care of it then it will last you longer and if you do not take care of it then you will wind up replacing it sooner than you probably should be. There are some quick tips you can follow that will allow you to possibly extend the life of your laptop battery and put off having to buy a replacement for a while. Remember that nothing is set in stone and sometimes a battery just dies on you but a little extra care for your laptop battery can sometimes go a very long way.

First of all the most important thing to remember about a laptop battery is to never take it apart. You cannot fix it by taking it apart and actually if you take it apart you will do the direct opposite of fixing it which means you will ruin it. A laptop battery is a sealed unit that will no longer function if you break that seal and let air in from the outside and damage the working parts of the battery. Your battery operates on chemical reactions so if you upset those chemical reactions the battery will no longer work. There is also the inherent danger of exposing yourself to the dangerous chemicals inside the battery. Needless to say opening your laptop battery is a bad idea all around so avoid doing it at all costs.

When ever you are not using your laptop you may want to remove the battery and store it in a cool and dry place to try and extend the life of the battery. When the battery is removed from your laptop there is no drain on it and this can really help extend the life of your battery. Avoid storing it in any place that has extended exposure to sunlight and extended periods of high heat. The sunlight can work to dry your battery out and the extended exposure to heat can upset the chemical reactions required to make your battery work properly so avoid excessive heat exposure when possible. This also goes for exposure to any serious drops in temperature as well. While the extreme cold is less likely to damage your battery it can still cause a lot of problems if your laptop battery is consistently exposed to extreme cold. Storing your battery in room temperature is the best solution and make sure you keep the metal contacts on the battery covered whenever it is not in the laptop.

Avoid over charging your battery when ever possible. You cannot do any serious damage to your battery if you leave it charging once in a while but constantly leaving your battery charging will eventually take its toll and cause your battery to start to lose its ability to hold a charge.
